Dear Professor,

Since I am postponing my intention to go to Vienna until New Year's, and I won't be seeing you again at Christmas, I am pressed to tell you at least in writing how very happy I am about the, albeit difficult, nevertheless so favorable course of your convalescence. I hope that we will be able to talk with each other pleasantly again in the new year about various subjects of mutual interest. Some things are certainly less pleasant, such as, among other things, the signs of disharmony among the members of the Committee.
