Sigmund Freud

N.Y., May 21, 1927

Dear Professor,

This time only brief communications.—I was in Washington for three days, gave a lecture on sexual and genital theories in the United Ps. An. and Ps. Pathol. Association. Then four long lectures for active psychoanalysts on technical questions. Dr. W. A. White was very forthcoming; he is a reliable friend of psychoanalysis and is influencing his staff of physicians along these lines.1 They inundated me with attentiveness, to which the more intimate New York colleagues had not accustomed me.

Now, only one more week here, then we embark (on June 2) and travel on board the Hamburg-America Liner “New York” to Southampton; from there, Rickmann2 takes us in his car to Portsmouth, where I will visit Inman; then comes the stay in London (The Goring Hotel, Grosvenor Gardens, Belgravia, London S.W. 1). From there we intend to travel to Paris and would like to use the opportunity to get to know your Princess—only you would have to be so kind as to pave the way for this encounter—naturally, only if you consider it to be advisable and feasible.

Many kind regards to you all.

Yours,

Ferenczi and Frau G.

Please send the reply to London.—
