Dear Professor Freud,

It is of course a great disappointment to us both that you are not coming to London, but our feeling in this direction is quite submerged by our solicitude about the cause and I wish it were in my power to do or say something that would have a beneficial effect with you. Feeling as you do you are wise not to travel so far to such new and tiring impressions, but you must regard it as only a postponement to a more favourable occasion,
