I am grateful to Dr. Bronheim for his support in the application of psychoanalytic conceptualizations to international relations, and for bringing up certain issues for further exploration.

Dr. Bronheim refers to the asymmetrical regression of national groups, and the concept of "mature nations" protecting "innocent" ones, in an analogy of parents protecting children.
