Review by:
Martin J. Weich, M.D.

Winnicott is considered by many as one of the major psychoanalytic innovators since Freud. A collection of his unpublished papers, together with some that are now difficult to obtain, make up the bulk of this volume. Most of the papers began as talks or lectures (an activity greatly enjoyed by Winnicott) to a wide variety of audiences. The editors hope to show the depth of his conviction that basically the structure of society reflects the nature of the individual and of the family.
