Review by:
Viveka Nyberg

This anthology of Swedish essays is entitled Private At Work. The subtitle explains that the book contains “Discussions about ethics, laws and norms around the purchase of sexual services and the use of pornography within state employment”. The book is published by Krus, an organisation which provides the Swedish government with strategic support regarding the activities of public employees. The anthology of essays was intended to provide guidelines for public departments, so that the text could be read and discussed across departments for staff and management to analyse the consequences of legal frameworks and ethical issues within Sweden from various perspectives. The aim is not to provide answers, but to deepen the understanding of the complexities surrounding the use of pornography and the purchase of sexual services.

This is an important collection of essays from a wide variety of different standpoints and experiences. Many of the contributors have backgrounds in academia and the law.
