A Farewell from the Co-Editors of Contemporary Psychoanalysis

Donnel B. Stern, Ph.D. and Philip M. Bromberg, Ph.D.

This is the Final Issue of our editorship. We are delighted that Mark J. Blechner, Ph.D. will be the next Editor of Contemp. Psychoanal., and we are proud to join the distinguished lineage of the Journal's past Editors. The founding Editors were Max Deutscher, Ph.D. and Rose Spiegel, M.D. (who served from 1964 to 1970). Arthur H. Feiner, Ph.D. took the helm in 1971 and guided the journal for 25 years (from 1971 to 1995), followed by Jay R. Greenberg, Ph.D. (from 1996 to 2001). Donnel B. Stern, Ph.D. became the Editor in 2002 and was joined by CoEditor Philip M. Bromberg, Ph.D. from the final issue of 2006 through this first issue of 2008.

Contemp. Psychoanal. has a proud history of publishing writers from across the spectrum of psychoanalytic theories. For many years it was the primary American publishing outlet for writers who were not part of the psychoanalytic mainstream, and it continues today to give voice to new writers and new ideas, representing especially Interpersonal and Relational psychoanalysis. We hope that our work has contributed to the ongoing fulfillment of this purpose. We thank you, the readers of the Journal, for coming with us on the journey of these last years, and we look forward to seeing the shape of the Journal's future. We hope you, too, are eager to see what develops.
