This book by Michèle Perron-Borelli, who is well known in France for her publications on the ‘dynamics’ of fantasy, is a robust theoretical construction that rests on the firmest of Freudian foundations. Its author here undertakes a comprehensive exploration of the status and organising role of fantasy activity in the formation of the psyche, and in so doing puts forward a number of new hypotheses.
