Panel Report, IPA Congress Buenos Aires 2017: Intimacy, Primitive Communication, the Psychoanalytic Communication

Luis Rodríguez de la Sierra

Chair: René Roussillon (France, SPP)

Presenters: Anna Ferruta (Italy, SPI), Ema Ponce de León (Uruguay, APU) and Régine Prat (France, SPP)

Reporter: Luis Rodríguez de la Sierra

This very interesting and stimulating panel took place in one of the largest rooms at the Hilton Hotel and was extremely well attended. The subsequent discussion was very animated and addressed the different subjects introduced by the three papers and by the Chairman's erudite introduction. René Roussillon, Régine Prat and Anna Ferruta spoke in French while Ema Ponce de León read her paper in Spanish. A translation of the French papers was projected in Spanish and English and Ema Ponce de León's paper was translated and thus projected on the screens in French. The choice of language was significant within the context of the central theme of the congress, intimacy. The contact which is made through the use of our mother tongue has a special significance as far as intimacy is concerned. This is a subject alluded to in this panel and more directly taken up by Anna Ferruta.
