Zusammenfassung: Die Arbeit wertet Archivalien der Berliner Humboldt-Universität aus, die den Aufenthalt von Alice und Michael Bálint von 1921 bis 1924 in Berlin beleuchten, darunter einen Lebenslauf von Michael Bálint und seine Promotionsakten. Bálint war als Chemiestudent eingeschrieben und wurde 1924 »cum laude« zum Dr. phil. promoviert, während der Promotionsplan seiner Frau, die in Staatswissenschaft immatrikuliert war, nicht verwirklicht wurde. Die Forschungsergebnisse und das akademische Arbeitsumfeld von Michael Bálint werden kurz vorgestellt.

Summary: Alice and Michael Bálint in Berlin (1921-1924): This paper presents documents from the archives of Humboldt University highlighting the Bálints’ stay in Berlin, among them Michael Bálint's CV and the records of his graduation. He was enrolled as a student of chemistry and received his Ph. D. with »cum laude« in 1924, while Alice's analogous plans in political sciences did not materialize. The results of Michael Bálint's research and the academic context of his work are sketched.
