Introduction

Iréne Matthis

Although we do not yet have a final solution to all the problems related to organizing an international interdisciplinary society, we feel that we are slowly making headway. The reports from the different groups around the world bear witness to this development, as does our congress report. In this Bulletin, we are publishing reports from 11 research and study groups within the Society.

When readers receive this issue, the 3rd International Neuro-Psychoanalytic Congress will probably be just around the corner. The subject of Sexuality and Gender is likely to also attract people from outside the psychoanalytic and neuroscientific milieu. The Congress is being held at the University of Stockholm on September 1 to 3, 2002, and it is organized jointly with a Congress arranged by the International Psychoanalytic Association's Committee on Women and Psychoanalysis (COWAP), which will be held, at the same venue, on the two preceding days: August 30 to 31, 2002. The subject is the same at both congresses, as are some of the lecturers. (See announcement in this issue.)

As before, I ask readers to contact me if they are intending to start a group; and, please, do remember to send me reports of your ongoing activities.
