David Milrod's target paper and seven commentaries were shared with me for a more global commentary from a neuroscience perspective. We all realize that this important topic—the nature of the self—is also the most untractable in both neuroscience and psychoanalysis, but I do this in the open spirit that is so well communicated in the target article.
