Michael S. Trupp

Ornston presents an ambitious and scholarly tracing of Freud's use of projection as a conceptual continuum, as well as an examination of Freud's elaborators and critics on this subject. He suggests that in analytic literature, normal projection has been both obscured and distorted by emphasis on pathology. Examples integrating projection with a broad spectrum of major mental activities are presented.
