The Psychoanalytic Study of the Child. XXXIII, 1978: Narcissistic Transference and Countertransference in Adolescent Treatment. Isaac Tylim. Pp. 279-294.

Michael S. Trupp

Tylim applies Kohut's theories to treatment of adolescents, with special attention to "idealization," "mirroring," and self "repair." The question of analyst as "old" or "new" object during this phase is explored, as are problems of countertransference. Freud's thought on transference is both contrasted with, and related to, these views.
