Revue Française De Psychanalyse. XLI, 1977: Concerning Orgasm. Marie-Claire Boons. Pp. 619-626.

Emmett Wilson, Jr.

Boons suggests that the "propaganda" about orgasm is a reversal of the Victorian injunction against women enjoying sex, which now returns as an imperative to enjoy sex. She sees this as a continued form of oppression and as a masculine attempt to dominate women now in an objective and research-oriented language. Boons discusses the Lacanian and structuralist analysis of orgasm, which assigns to woman's orgasm the character of being infinite. She sees this as still another example of masculine narcissism which equates women with inaccessibility and sorcery.
