Gerard Fountain

The writer explores the reasons for, and uses of, a woman's fantasy that she had an ideal older brother. The meanings of the fantasy were numerous and complex. It expressed identifications and defenses, and was clearly related to her later relations with a man. The fantasy contributed in a basic way to her character.
