A partir de son expérience clinique, l'auteur décrit les représentations groupales dans leur enchaînement psychogénétique. Il définit successivement les groupes: narcissique paradoxal, originaire, primaire et secondaire. Il donne ici sa théorie des « représentants incarnation » et celle du refoulement originaire dont les représentations qui en sont l'objet resurgissent dans les mythes.
