Ce texte interroge le sens de l'expérience hallucinatoire d'une patiente au cours de son analyse. Il y a, pour elle, échec de l'accomplissement hallucinatoire du souhait infantile comme modèle de base de compréhension de la psyché. Cet échec résulte d'une rencontre traumatique avec l'objet primaire. C'est la répétition du traumatisme dans le processus analytique et son élaboration à travers l’écoute analytique qui transforme une suite de coups en après coups, inaugurant ainsi une temporalité psychanalytique.
