[SES241a13]This paper was finished by August, 1925, when Freud showed it to Ferenczi. It was read on his behalf by Anna Freud at the Homburg International Psycho-Analytical Congress on September 3, and was published in the Zeitschrift later in the autumn (Jones, 1957, 119).
