Dear Fräulein Bernays!

Dear Pr[ofessor].

I was surprised to get a letter from Dr. Reik delivered today. That encourages me to make the attempt with this letter; maybe it will reach you.

Concerning the Ψ effects of the events here1—which on the surface have taken place very peacefully—I can only say that they were and are overwhelming. The upsets of the war and of the first revolution can't be compared with them.
