Dear Professor Freud,

Now that I have partly disposed of the mass of work that always threatens to engulf me after the holidays, I can think of writing to you again. The event that will interest you most is this: Bleuler has now joined the Society. I bow to your arts! Binswanger will probably cede the presidency to him. I shall confer with Binswanger on this matter. Last Sunday I invited Bleuler over to my place; he was most amiable, everything went off smoothly, we spent the whole evening talking with a physicista about something far removed from our usual concerns—the electrical theory of light. The assistant physician at the Clinic, Dr. Maier, has not yet made up his mind to join, though he actually gave a lecture at our last meeting.1

My paper is now in the process of being copied out. It grows and grows. After seeing a performance of Faust yesterday,1a including bits of Part II, I feel more confident of its value.
